Events January 16th 1939 flown from Germany to Papendrecht as D-AYWI, entering service as X-18. This was the first Do-24K-1 with a strengthened fuselage.
January 20th 1939 shipped to the Dutch East Indies on board of the Buitenzorg.
September 1939 transferred to GVT 4.
January 1940 sent to Morokrambangan for a 400 hour inspection.
December 1st 1941 stationed at Poeloe Samboe.
December 10th 1941 releaved by GVT 3 and flown to Morokrembangan for maintanance.
December 23rd 1941 maintanance was finished.
January 25th 1942 transferred to Tandjong Priok.
January 28th 1942 transferred to the Toba Lake to releave the X-16.
February 20th 1942 rescued 55 survivors of the ship van Nes.
February 24th 1942 attacked Muntok near the island Noordwachter. On the way back attacked by Japanese fighters. The plane had to make a forced landing on the sea. The entire crew was able to reach the coast swimming. The next day they were brought to Morokrembangan on board of the Minelayer Djombang.
